In one month, Aoife Cascade will turn twenty and take her seat on the Council of Cregah, an honor she’s been preparing for her whole life. But when she lets a secret slip to her mother with devastating consequences, all her plans for the future crumble. Believing her people to be better off without her, she flees Cregah, stowing away aboard a pirate ship bound for dangerous waters.

Captain Declan McCallagh is young compared to the pirate lords, but after twelve years on the grueling Aisling Sea, he has earned a well respected ship and the attention of the lords, who seek to put him in his place. All he wants is to leave the Aisling Sea—and his past—behind him, and finding the enchanted dagger is the final key to making that happen… the same dagger his sister and her rebel group need to overthrow the council. He’ll have to decide whether to help a people he no longer claims as his own or take the dagger for himself.

With murder and betrayal at every turn, can Aoife and Declan learn to rely on one another? Or will the secrets they carry destroy their people—and each other?

Vanessa sets sail into the waters of new adult fantasy with On These Black Sands, the first book in her world of pirates, fae, and ruthless rulers. By day she wrangles her four children, works as a data analyst, and runs a small business creating gifts for book nerds like herself. A lifelong early bird, she writes in the early morning hours with her coffee, praying for the kids to sleep past sunrise. When not at her keyboard, she is likely hiding somewhere with a good book, watching movies with her family, or dreaming of future travels.

I may have reached my breaking point. As if trying to graduate from a school for supernaturals isn’t stressful enough, my relationship status has gone from complicated to a straight-up dumpster fire.

Oh, and the Bloodletter has decided to drop a bomb of epic proportions on us all…

Then again, when has anything at Katmere Academy not been intense?

And the hits just keep coming. Jaxon’s turned colder than an Alaskan winter. The Circle is splintered over my upcoming coronation. As if things couldn’t get worse, now there’s an arrest warrant for Hudson’s and my supposed crimes—which apparently means a lifetime prison sentence with a deadly unbreakable curse.

Choices will have to be made…and I fear not everyone will survive.

The Crave series is best enjoyed in order.

Title: Glimpse of Time
Author: JM Buckler
Genre: Fantasy
Audience: New Adult
Format: Hardcover, paperback, ebook
Publisher: Gratus Publishing
Release Date: Early 2022

Three worlds.

Two families.

One war.

The Capturing Time Saga is the name of the new series.

JM Buckler has been featured in top media including ABC, NBC, and Fox. She is the award-winning author of Seeker of Time, Stillness of Time, and Passage of Time, young adult fantasy-fiction books which have received praise from the likes of Kirkus Reviews and which have been best-selling young adult books on Amazon. Game-changers in the young adult marketplace, Buckler’s novels combine electric storytelling with deep spiritual lessons and meaningful takeaway on how to cope with life’s hardships – addressing everything from betrayal and heartbreak, to violence and death.

Buckler offers writing-based programs to diverse audiences – teaching how to use the power of the pen to reshape and reclaim one’s life, as Buckler did when she began her own writing journey: After years of drifting through life, feeling insecure and lacking a sense of meaning or purpose – always trying to be the image and fill role that others held out for her – Buckler took a leap of faith and walked out on the person she was supposed to be, instead diving into the world of her imaginary characters. Through developing their lives, Buckler discovered that she cultivated her own – ultimately finding her calling and passion, transforming her reality, and emerging a grounded and confident young woman. Buckler lives in Austin, TX, with her husband, son, and Havanese dog.

Disappointing Books of 2020

We all know that 2020 sucked. While it was my best reading year ever and I loved plenty of the books I read, there of course were a few books that disappointed me almost as much as the year overall. Please keep in mind that reading is very subjective and it’s quite possible that I hated a book that you loved. Take no offense! Reading is just for fun and everyone has different taste.
