Review: The Friend Zone

**spoilers for The Friend Zone**

From the USA Today bestselling author of The Friend Zone comes an adorable and fresh romantic comedy about one trouble-making dog who brings together two perfect strangers.

Two years after losing her fiancé, Sloan Monroe still can’t seem to get her life back on track. But one trouble-making pup with a “take me home” look in his eyes is about to change everything. With her new pet by her side, Sloan finally starts to feel more like herself. Then, after weeks of unanswered texts, Tucker’s owner reaches out. He’s a musician on tour in Australia. And bottom line: He wants Tucker back.

Well, Sloan’s not about to give up her dog without a fight. But what if this Jason guy really loves Tucker? As their flirty texts turn into long calls, Sloan can’t deny a connection. Jason is hot and nice and funny. There’s no telling what could happen when they meet in person. The question is: With his music career on the rise, how long will Jason really stick around? And is it possible for Sloan to survive another heartbreak?

I loved this book. I felt so much for Sloan during The Friend Zone, and I’m glad we got to follow Sloan on her journey recovering from her grief and by not just finding love again but also rediscovering herself by reigniting her passions for her art and her cooking blog.

Jason was the perfect match for Sloan, and not just because she was meant to be with his dog! He is loyal, caring, and just wants the best for Sloan. I loved how close he was to his family. Unfortunately, his successful music career and his desire to protect Sloan from the dark side of his budding celebrity threaten their relationship. Can a new relationship survive the challenges of an international music tour, a troubled pop star ex, and celebrity gossip news?

This was not as heart-wrenching as The Friend Zone, but it still had some very emotional moments and definitely still made me tear up. Abby Jimenez has quickly become an auto-buy author for her humorous and heartfelt romances.

Another thing I loved about this book is that each chapter title is a song, so the book truly makes a playlist! I found the playlist on Spotify, and I’ve been listening to it nonstop since I finished this audiobook because the song choices are so good!

Thank you, Forever, and Hachette Audio for the audiobook review copy in exchange for an honest review.
